OXIGEN is not just a water. It is an oxygen-enhanced recovery drink,
scientifically proven to improve muscle recovery by clearing lactic acid
2x faster than regular water post-exercise. In addition, because the
proprietary O4 molecule in OXIGEN is proven to deliver oxygen to your
bloodstream immediately upon consumption, OXIGEN helps deliver
additional proven benefits associated with increased oxygen in your
body, including increased focus, increased stamina and alcohol
recovery. Given these proven benefits around the area of “Recovery”,
OXIGEN truly is unique in the functional water space.
What is O4 ?
O4 is the secret ingredient that delivers functional recovery in OXIGEN
water and shots. It is all-natural and created via a proprietary 120-step
manufacturing process that binds two O2 molecules together. O4 is also
stable in water, which means it stays in the OXIGEN water until it enters
your body, unlike products that rely on oxygen or hydrogen gas.
Can my body use the O4 ?
Yes, scientific studies have shown that the O4 in OXIGEN water and
shots is bioavailable, meaning that it gets absorbed into your
bloodstream upon consumption through capillaries in the mouth
(ultra-lingual and sublingual) as well as through the stomach lining.
How are OXIGEN water and shots different?
OXIGEN water is clean-tasting distilled water with 100 times more
oxygen than regular water. OXIGEN water contains the electrolyte sea
salt, to help bind the two O2 molecules together to create O4 , however
OXIGEN water does not have a salty taste and tastes like crisp
refreshing water. OXIGEN water is great for post-exercise or all-day
recovery. OXIGEN shots are a powerful O4 concentrate with 500x the
oxygen content of regular water (and five times more oxygen than
OXIGEN water). Because OXIGEN shots are concentrated, the sea salt
does create a slightly salty taste. OXIGEN shots are perfect for a
morning boost, post-workout recovery and/or an afternoon pick-me-up.
Is there ACTUAL scientific proof behind OXIGEN and its benefits?
Consumers should be skeptical of marketing claims, but unlike other
beverage brands that talk about the “science” behind their products,
OXIGEN has two studies that prove what we’re saying. The first is a
radioactive isotope study that tagged the Activated Stabilized Oxygen
(ASO or O4 ) molecules and confirmed that they were absorbed into the
bloodstream upon consumption. The second study is our placebo-
controlled, double-blind clinical study, published in the Journal of the
International Society of Sports Nutrition [hyperlink to study], proving
that OXIGEN water speeds muscle recovery post-exercise via lactate
clearance twice as fast as regular water. So yeah, OXIGEN works. Now
go ask your other water brand for their “scientific proof ”.
Is O4 better than adding an oxygen or hydrogen gas?
OXIGEN’s proprietary O4 molecule is stable in water, so you could leave
an open bottle of OXIGEN on the table for two years, come back to it
and it would still have the same oxygen content. By contrast, waters
that claim to have added oxygen or hydrogen in gas form either lose
that gas during transit, as it escapes through the packaging, or the gas
escapes into the atmosphere upon opening. Some products even state
directly on their labels to consume “within 30 minutes of opening”,
proving that their claimed benefit escapes before it becomes
But there’s already oxygen in water, isn’t there?
Yes, tap and other bottled waters typically have less than 10 parts per
million of oxygen in them. OXIGEN water has 1,000 parts per million
and OXIGEN shots have 5,000 parts per million thanks to our added O4 .
By adding oxygen to water, aren’t you creating H2O2 ?
No, we do not change the molecular structure of the distilled water we
use to make OXIGEN. We’re simply adding O4 to it, so that it becomes
H2O with extra O4 .
Why is there sea salt in your products?
The sea salt plays an important role in the proprietary O4 molecule
process as it helps bind the O2 molecules together to create O4 . And as
you athletes know, sea salt is a great source of electrolytes, which are
critical for post-exercise recovery.
Does OXIGEN contain electrolytes?
Yes, OXIGEN contains sea salt which is an electrolyte. Our waters
contain 25 mg and our concentrated shots contain 175 mg, making
both valuable tools for both recovery and hydration.
Don’t other waters contain electrolytes?
Don’t be fooled! Four of the leading water brands claim “Electrolytes for
taste” on the front of their label, yet show 0 mg of any electrolytes on
their nutritional panel. The FDA refers to this as “trace amounts”,
meaning the electrolyte content is so insignificant in the product that
it does not show up on the label, making the electrolyte content
insignificant when it comes to rehydration benefits as well. Therefore,
don’t expect any functional benefits beyond water from these brands.
What is the pH of OXIGEN?
OXIGEN is between 7.2 and 7.4 pH, similar to your body’s natural pH of
7.4. Pure or purified water has a pH of 7.
Why are you in plastic?
Our bottles do not introduce virgin (new) plastic into the environment,
as we only use 100% post-consumer use rPET (recycled plastic) bottles to ensure we do our
part for the planet. We are not able to package in stainless steel
because all stainless steel has low grade electrical current (or potential
thereof) running through it. Even the smallest amount will begin to
disrupt the bond that exists in OXIGEN’s O4 molecule and therefore
decrease the oxygen delivery and efficacy of the product.
What are the benefits of rPET?
Recycled PET (rPET) is 100% post-consumer use plastic (previously
recycled bottles/containers). rPET production requires 2⁄3 less energy to
manufacture along with 2⁄3 less sulphur dioxide, 50% less nitrous oxide,
and almost 90% less water usage! Our aim is to create a closed loop
system, so that no plastic bottle ever enters the environment, but
rather re-enters the supply stream to become a new source of rPET. So,
while our oxygenated water recovers your body, our 100% rPET bottles
work to recover the planet!
Can I pour OXIGEN into my reusable water bottle?
We do not recommend drinking OXIGEN from a stainless steel
container because all stainless steel has low grade electrical current (or
potential thereof) running through it. That current has the ability to
disrupt the bond that exists in OXIGEN’s O4 molecule and therefore
decrease the efficacy of the product. Reusable bottles made from
other materials are fine for use with OXIGEN.
Can I mix OXIGEN with other ingredients (such as coffee, fruit, ice, alcohol)?
The oxygen in OXIGEN, while completely stable, is active. As a result,
adding organic material to the product will oxidize it on contact. Doing
so won’t create a harmful interaction, but if you were to add flavor,
vitamins, protein or any organic materials at all, there would be a
reduction in the amount of oxygen entering your body when ingesting
OXIGEN. So, although it is safe, we do not recommend mixing OXIGEN
with other ingredients as it reduces the product’s efficacy. Instead, we
recommend drinking OXIGEN on its own and enjoying your other
ingredients with regular water.
Will I get a surge of energy if I drink OXIGEN?
Oxygen is not a stimulant, like caffeine or sugar, so you will not feel a
surge of energy from drinking OXIGEN. However, proven benefits of
having additional oxygen in the bloodstream include increased focus,
increased stamina and “celebration” (i.e., alcohol) recovery. And
because OXIGEN has no sugar or caffeine in it, you get the benefits of
recovery without any rush or bumpy crashes.
Don’t I get enough oxygen from breathing?
Yes, and no. There are varying levels of pollution everywhere we go. As
toxins contaminate the air, they replace and reduce the amount of
available oxygen. Science also tells us that stress (emotional or
physical), lack of exercise, infections, medications, viruses, drugs and
alcohol, highly processed foods and polluted water can reduce the
amount of bio-available oxygen in the bloodstream. Therefore, having
an additional source of oxygen in your bloodstream can only be
When should I drink OXIGEN water and shots?
Anytime is a great time to replenish your blood oxygen levels! We
recommend OXIGEN water to help you feel replenished and hydrated
throughout the day. OXIGEN shots can be used during or after exercise
to help your muscles clear away lactic acid faster. And you can use
either water or shots when your brain needs a boost midday at work,
during or after a long flight to help ward off jet lag, or even before bed
after you’ve had a few adult beverages!
Can I drink too much OXIGEN water or do too many OXIGEN shots?
No! OXIGEN is completely safe to use in any amount as tested by SGS
USA and shown to be completely non-toxic. However, just like regular
water, you can drink too much and disrupt the electrolyte balance in
your body (but that’s a fair amount of water!).
Is OXIGEN water safe for kids or pets?
Yes. The ingredients in our products are distilled water, O4 (stabilized
oxygen) and sea salt—a combination safe and beneficial for people (or
pets) of any age. It can be consumed by infants, pregnant women and
nursing mothers without any concern.
What is the shelf life of OXIGEN?
OXIGEN uses the standard "best by" date of two years for all water and
shots sold in the United States.
